VASCULAR AND ENDOVASCULAR SURGEON
Dr Leonard Shan is a vascular and endovascular surgeon in both public and private practice with interests and operative practice in peripheral vascular disease, aneursyms of the Aorta and carotid vessels as well as renal dialysis access, diabetic foot disease, varicose veins and minimally invasive endovascular intervention.
Dr Leonard Shan is also a senior lecturer in vascular surgery at the University of Melbourne and has a special interest is in patient-reported outcomes. He is internationally recognised for his expertise on post-operative quality of life.
He serves on the editorial board of the Annals of Vascular Surgery and is a member of the Australian Cardiovascular Research Alliance. Leonard is the recipient of research scholarships from the Australian Commonwealth Government and Royal Australasian College of Surgeons for his PhD on patient-reported outcomes of arterial surgery, where he hopes to give patients a greater voice in treatment decision-making.
